ACTA finally stopped in Europe!

The European Parliament made clear that it is against the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), after three of its committees rejected the agreement.

The Law committee, The committee for industry, research and energy and The civil rights, justice and internal affairs committee voted AGAINST the agreement today. ACTA was a trigger for many protests and reactions across Europe.

Opinion about ACTA is expected from The international trade committee, after that the European Parliament will have a vote about ACTA on 21 June. Judging by the bad publicity and the reactions of the various committees in the European Parliament the ACTA will fail to gain support even in the first phase of implementation.

In case some twist happens, it's very certain that the Dutch parliament won't accept this agreement. The Dutch MPs voted against ACTA this week in their own national parliament, saying that the Dutch government won't accept the agreement even if it gets support in the European Parliament.
